Hi John, I'm Mick, a recruiter at Acme. I messaged you on LinkedIn.
Following up on our Senior Engineer role. Worth a look?
Hi Mick, yes, open to a chat this week. Does Thursday work?
Why the follow-up is everything
The opportunity
80%+of recruiter messages on LinkedIn never get a reply. The average response rate is 17%, across 4M+ sourcing messages.
The stakes
56%of replies arrive after the first message. A sequence that stops at one leaves most of its replies unclaimed.
The lift
+65.8%more replies from sending a single additional follow-up. That is the core of what folup automates.
How it works
What other tools send
Your automated sequence, drafted up front.
No more digging through threads. Every open, click, and reply lands in one place, synced straight from your inbox.
Connect once. That’s the setup.
Reply rates, pipeline funnel, and activity trends. folup shows which outreach lands, so you double down on what gets replies.

Contact-data tools, sales platforms, and enterprise suites each cover part of the job, or charge for parts you don’t need. folup covers all of it on one flat plan.
SeekOut, hireEZ, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Recruiter and Recruiter Lite do not publish self-serve pricing, so those figures are market estimates; the SeekOut, hireEZ and ZoomInfo ones come from Vendr deal data. Apollo, Lusha, Loxo, Juicebox, Wiza and LinkedIn Recruiter charge per user, so a team pays the figure shown for every seat. Checked July 2026; reverify before relying on an exact figure. folup is an AI-powered follow-up and outreach tool built for recruiters and talent sourcers. It automates the manual parts of candidate communication after LinkedIn sourcing, so you spend your time on conversations, not chasing.
Yes. Export a LinkedIn project or search to CSV and import the whole shortlist at once, add candidates one at a time, or pull them from a connected ATS. From there folup finds the e-mail LinkedIn won’t show you and handles the follow-up. A Chrome extension that imports a profile in one click is coming soon.
Yes. folup connects to Gmail and Outlook and sends from your own address, so candidates see a real person reaching out, not a tool. Messages land in your Sent folder and replies come straight back to you. The E-mail Outreach & Deliverability questions below cover the technical side.
Yes. folup drafts every e-mail for you, and keeps it deliberately plain: who you are, the LinkedIn message you already sent, the role they’re in your pipeline for, and a simple ask. No scraped profile facts, no generated flattery. You review and send. The AI handles the first draft.
Most AI outreach tools scrape a candidate’s profile and generate praise that sounds personal but isn’t. folup doesn’t need that, because there’s a real reason to write: you already reached out on LinkedIn. So the e-mail just says so: “I’m a recruiter at Acme. I sent you a message on LinkedIn recently, and I wanted to follow up about our Senior Engineer role. Let me know if you’re interested.” Who you are, the message you already sent, the role, a simple ask. Every sentence is true, and that’s what makes it easy to answer.

More questions
folup helps recruiters and sourcers automate candidate outreach, from writing AI-drafted follow-up messages to tracking replies, so you can spend less time on manual admin and more time talking to candidates.
folup works for solo in-house recruiters managing their own pipeline, dedicated sourcers running higher-volume campaigns, and TA teams who need shared candidate pools and visibility across recruiters.
No, and that’s by design. folup builds on LinkedIn outreach, the channel every recruiter and sourcer already works in. The candidates in your pipeline are ones you searched for, read, and judged worth contacting, quality-assured by the person who knows the role best, instead of pulled from a database of unverified contacts you have to sift through yourself. And because your LinkedIn touch came first, they’re already warm by the time folup follows up, and the e-mail says so. You do the sourcing; folup makes sure none of it goes quiet.
An ATS tracks candidates through your hiring pipeline. folup focuses specifically on outreach: writing, sending, and tracking follow-up sequences to candidates. It works alongside your existing ATS rather than replacing it.
A recruiting CRM is built for long-term relationship management across a talent pool. folup is focused on active outreach campaigns for candidates you’re currently trying to reach: sequences, AI-drafted messages, and reply tracking.
Yes. folup automates multi-step follow-up sequences with AI-drafted messages, so candidates get consistent, timely outreach without you writing every message by hand.
The free trial includes 50 verified e-mail lookups and 1 active sequence for 14 days, with no credit card required.
Every plan includes unlimited business e-mail lookups. The tiers differ in volume, depth, and seats. Recruiter is a single desk, with 3-step sequences. Sourcer runs our deeper lookup waterfall for a higher match rate, plus unlimited sequence steps and reply-rate analytics. Team pools lookups across unlimited seats with a shared pipeline, so nobody contacts the same candidate twice.
It means you don’t count credits. Every business e-mail lookup up to your plan’s ceiling is included, and we publish that ceiling instead of hiding it: 500 lookups a month on Recruiter, 1,250 on Sourcer, and 6,000 on Team, shared by all your seats. Those are five to six times the quotas they replace, and well beyond what a full-time desk uses.
The ceiling exists to stop bulk scraping, not to ration your work. Bulk scraping means using folup to harvest contact data instead of to recruit: running lookups with a script or bot, working through a whole company, domain, or bought list with no role in mind, or exporting the addresses to build, sell, or share a database. Sourcing for roles you’re filling, or expect to fill, is ordinary use at any volume up to your ceiling. Staying under the ceiling doesn’t make scraping allowed, and reaching it is never a breach on its own.
If you get close, we e-mail you first. We never bill an overage you didn’t agree to. The full definition, including how we handle suspected scraping, is in Section 4 of our Terms of Service.
Yes. Quarterly billing saves 10% and annual billing saves 20% compared to monthly pricing.
Yes, you can change plans at any time as your outreach needs change. There are no long-term contracts.
We e-mail you before you get there, and nothing breaks silently. Lookups pause until your next billing month, and the rest of folup keeps working. You can still draft, send, and track outreach for candidates already in your account. You can upgrade at any time to lift the ceiling. There is no overage fee.
No. folup’s plans are priced simply with no per-seat surprises.
Three reasons, and none of them is a discount. First, no overhead to fund: no enterprise sales team, no annual contracts, no per-seat minimums. It’s self-serve, so that saving becomes the price. Second, no sending infrastructure: folup goes out through your own Gmail or Outlook, so we don’t run a mail relay and don’t charge you for one. Third, we don’t average the expensive stuff into everyone’s bill. A verified business e-mail is genuinely cheap to find, so it’s unlimited, while phone and personal e-mail lookups cost multiples more and are billed only to the people who want them. For scale: a single placement fee (roughly $15K on a $75K hire) covers folup’s top plan for more than 15 years, and the entry plan costs less than two LinkedIn InMails a month (about $10 each).
Because they cost us roughly ten times what a business e-mail does. Our data providers charge a few tenths of a cent for a verified work address and an order of magnitude more for a mobile number. We could bundle a small phone allowance into every plan, but then everyone would pay for it whether they used it or not, and the flat price would have to rise for all three tiers. Keeping them separate is what lets business e-mail be unlimited. If you never need a phone number, you never pay for one.
Neither. Business e-mail lookups are unlimited under fair use, so there are no credits to buy, budget, or lose at the end of the month. Phone and personal e-mail lookups are the exception. They cost us far more than a work address, so they are billed separately rather than folded into everyone’s price.
Most users can connect their inbox, import candidates, and launch their first sequence within minutes, with no technical setup required.
No. folup is designed for recruiters and sourcers to set up and use directly, without IT or engineering support.
Nothing. folup runs in the browser. Connect your Gmail or Outlook inbox so follow-ups send from your own address, then bring candidates in by importing a CSV exported from LinkedIn, adding them manually, or connecting a supported ATS. A Chrome extension for one-click profile imports is coming soon, but there is nothing to install today.
Yes, by design. Most outreach platforms are built for sales teams, so one product bundles a dialer, a CRM, and data enrichment; a recruiter needs one piece of that and pays for and learns the rest. folup does one job: following up with the candidates you’ve already sourced. No dialer, no CRM to maintain, and it does not replace your ATS. Fewer screens to learn, and nothing to configure beyond the inbox you already use every day.
Yes. Pro and Team plans include reply tracking and open rate analytics so you can see exactly what’s working and which candidates are engaging with your outreach.
Recruiter supports 3-step sequences. Sourcer and Team support unlimited sequences and steps.
Yes. Sequences can be paused or stopped at any point. If a candidate replies or you want to change your approach, you’re always in control.
folup tracks replies automatically so you know immediately when a candidate responds. Further follow-ups for that candidate are stopped automatically, so you never double-message someone who’s already replied.
No. folup sends through your own Gmail or Outlook account, on the connection you authorize at setup. Your work address is in the From line, the message lands in your Sent folder like anything else you write, and replies come back to your normal inbox. Every e-mail is authenticated with your own domain’s SPF and DKIM records. There is no shared sending relay and no third-party “on behalf of” address. If no inbox is connected, nothing sends. There is no fallback sender, and no lookalike address ever stands in for yours.
It depends how locked down your e-mail admin settings are. Most small and mid-sized companies allow this by default. Larger organizations with dedicated security teams (banks, healthcare, enterprise) sometimes restrict which third-party apps can connect to company Gmail or Outlook accounts. The simplest test is to try connecting during setup: if it works, it is already permitted for you.
Ask your IT admin to allow folup. It is a standard, low-effort request:
Mail.Send and Mail.ReadBasic permissions, or add a Conditional Access exception. Two: permission to send mail as you, and a metadata-only permission to read message headers so it can tell when a candidate has replied. That second permission cannot return message bodies at all, not by policy but because the provider does not expose them under it, so folup is technically incapable of reading what your e-mail says. It only ever looks at the threads it sent, fetched by ID, and never scans the rest of your mailbox. Your connection tokens are encrypted at rest.
On Google those are gmail.send and gmail.metadata. On Microsoft they are Mail.Send and Mail.ReadBasic. Your admin will see exactly these on the consent screen, so it is worth knowing them before the review.
Yes. folup uses your real mailbox rather than a bulk relay, so your provider’s normal limits apply:
Candidates count as external recipients, so on Workspace the 3,000 figure is the one you meet first. For cold outreach we recommend staying well under any of these, roughly 20 to 50 a day per inbox, especially in your first few weeks. Sender reputation is built slowly and spent quickly.
Shared relays and lookalike sending domains are exactly what spam filters are built to catch. Sending from the mailbox you already use means your outreach inherits the reputation that address has spent years earning, instead of starting from zero on infrastructure you do not control.
No, and today it does not connect to LinkedIn at all. Candidates arrive through a CSV you exported yourself, manual entry, or an ATS integration, so nothing folup does runs against your LinkedIn account. It will never send connection requests or InMail on your behalf. The Chrome extension coming soon keeps that line: it will read the profile you are already viewing, not automate anything on it.
Yes. folup is designed to work alongside your normal LinkedIn usage for candidate research and profile import. It does not perform automated actions on LinkedIn, so your account is not at risk.
Yes. Once candidates are imported, you can add them to sequences and track their progress through your outreach pipeline from a single dashboard.
No. folup works with a standard LinkedIn account. LinkedIn Recruiter isn’t required, but it’s highly recommended: its deeper search filters and higher profile-view limits make it easier to find and import the right candidates in the first place.
Yes, and right now the question barely arises, because folup never touches LinkedIn. Candidates come in from a CSV you exported, manual entry, or your ATS, so there is no automated activity on your account to be compliant about. When the Chrome extension ships it will read only the candidate information already visible to you on a profile you’re viewing. It won’t scrape LinkedIn in bulk, automate connection requests or InMail, or reach data outside what LinkedIn’s own interface shows you. That’s not the case with many contact and data-enrichment providers, which build their databases by scraping LinkedIn at scale or acquiring profile data through gray-area methods LinkedIn’s terms don’t permit. Either way, using folup keeps your account activity within LinkedIn’s rules.
folup is built to GDPR standards. All candidate data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising. Our GDPR notice and Privacy Policy set out lawful basis, retention, and international transfers in full.
On Team, candidate pools and activity are shared across your team, with visibility limited to members of your account. Individual Recruiter and Sourcer accounts are fully private to the account holder.
Yes. You can export all candidate data from your account settings at any time. If you cancel, your data remains available to export for 30 days before it is permanently deleted from our servers.
Yes. All outreach sequences include unsubscribe handling, and any candidate who opts out is automatically removed from active campaigns. We recommend staying familiar with applicable e-mail outreach regulations in your region.
folup is designed to complement your existing ATS rather than replace it. It handles the sourcing outreach layer: follow-up sequences, AI drafts, and reply tracking. Your ATS continues to manage the hiring pipeline. folup also supports importing candidates from select ATS integrations directly into your outreach sequences, alongside CSV import and manual entry.
No. folup works completely standalone. Import candidates from a CSV or add them manually, then follow up from your own Gmail or Outlook inbox. Connecting an ATS is optional.
Yes. Team includes shared candidate pools so your whole team can source and follow up without duplicating outreach to the same candidates.
Yes. Team includes a team activity feed and team-wide reply tracking and analytics so managers can see what’s working across the whole sourcing team.
Yes. folup works alongside your current tools by syncing with your existing inbox (Gmail or Outlook) rather than requiring you to change your workflow. Most users are up and running without disrupting anything they already use.
Yes. After cancellation, your candidate data remains accessible and exportable for 30 days. After that window, all personal and candidate data is permanently deleted from our servers.
All plans include e-mail support. Pro and Team plans include priority support for faster response times. Team accounts also have access to onboarding assistance and dedicated account guidance.
